Bundestag elections took place in Germany on 23 February. A total of six parties won 1 or more seats in parliament.

The seats have been allocated as follows:
  

  • CDU/CSU                                       208 Seats       (28,5 % + 4,4%)  
  • AfD                                                 152 Seats       (20,8 % + 10,4%)
  • SPD                                                 120 Seats       (16,4% -9,3 %)
  • Grüne                                              85 Seats         (11,6% - 3,1%)
  • Linke                                               64 Seats         (8,8% + 3,9%)
  • BSW                                                -                     (4,9% + 4,9%)
  • FDP                                                 -                     (4,3% -7,1 %)
  • Others                                             1 Seats           (SSW)    (4,7%)

     

From the Euregio Rhine-Waal, the following were elected to the new parliament:

  • Adam Balten                                    Wesel I                                  AfD
  • Sascha van Beek                              Wesel I                                  CDU
  • Bärbel Bas                                        Duisburg I                            SPD
  • Mirze Edis                                        Duisburg I                            Linke
  • Lamya Kaddor                                  Duisburg I                            Grüne
  • Felix Banaszak                                 Duisburg II                           Grüne
  • Mahmut Özdemir                             Duisburg II                           SPD
  • Sascha Lensing                                 Duisburg II                           AfD
  • Thomas Jarzombek                           Düsseldorf I                         CDU
  • Sara Nanni                                        Düsseldorf II                        Grüne
  • Johannes Winkel                              Düsseldorf II                        CDU

     

At least two or three parties are needed for a majority. Merz (CDU) rules out governing together with the AfD. Therefore, a coalition with the Green and SPD or a coalition with the SPD is among the possibilities.
