News from Kleve: Reopening of the B.C. Koekkoek Haus in Kleve

He is considered one of the most important Dutch painters of the 19th century – yet his home was in Kleve for decades. From Sunday, 31 August 2025, at 2 p.m., the B. C. Koekkoek House in Kleve, the long-time home and workplace of the important landscape painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek, will be open to visitors again.

To counter labour market shortages and contribute to greater inclusion in the Euroregional labour market, the GrenzTalentFit project focuses on people with a large distance to work. This labour market shortage is significant in both the Netherlands and Germany: there are more vacancies than people who are unemployed. There was therefore a lot of interest in the kick-off of the project.
