The stand attracted many curious visitors who wanted to find out what European cooperation means in everyday life. Particularly exciting was the presentation of three projects that clearly demonstrated that Interreg is not an abstract concept, but something that can be experienced in a very concrete way!
• Emergency Drone fascinated visitors with a glimpse into the future of disaster relief. In an emergency, the drones are designed to save lives by providing rescue workers in the border region with crucial information at lightning speed, thereby making operations more efficient.
• BOOST showed how companies can successfully use green hydrogen production. An innovative software toolbox can be used to analyse and optimise various application scenarios.
• CREATE presented innovative ways of generating energy from wastewater and waste materials. By producing biogas and using renewable energies locally, the project is helping to replace fossil fuels and make companies more sustainable.
Many visitors were surprised by the diversity of the projects financed by Interreg – from high-tech to business to sustainable energy. The many discussions at the stand made it clear that cross-border cooperation is not just a political buzzword, but brings tangible benefits for the region and its people.
Participation at the Wereldhavendagen was a resounding success for Interreg Deutschland-Nederland. Amidst Rotterdam's international atmosphere, it became clear what the programme is all about: working openly across borders, enabling new ideas and making Europe tangible in everyday life.
