After the opening by Nadja Brauer, managing director of the BBZ Kreis Kleve e.V., and the greeting by the mayor of Lingewaard, Nelly Kalfs, both the mayor of Zevenaar, Luciën van Riswijk, and the Landrat of the Kreis Kleve, Christoph Gerwers, gave speeches. The Berufsbildungszentrum Kreis Kleve cooperates in the project with the Municipality of Lingewaard, the RSD the Liemers and with Emmerich and Kleve. Together with the EU and NRW, the Province of Gelderland is supporting this project financially and, at the conclusion of the kick-off, VVD Deputy at the Province of Gelderland, Helga Witjes, spoke about the importance of this kind of project.
Everyone unanimously agreed on the importance of the project and the need to help bring people back closer to the labour market. Andreas Kochs, secretary of the Euregio Rhine-Waal, also concurred: "As Euregio Rhine-Waal, we are committed to the initiative to offer people with a distance to the labour market a 360-degree view of the opportunities and possibilities available to them." Within the project, these people are supported in a social pedagogical way and based on their needs to help them become employable and participate socially.
The project will run for three years and end in February 2028. The available budget is €1,123,463.64. The project partners also make their own contribution of €324,011.06. An amount of €799,452.58 comes from the so-called Interreg subsidy Germany-Netherlands and is co-sponsored by the EU, the Ministerium für Wirtschaft Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Province of Gelderland.
