News from Kleve: Reopening of the B.C. Koekkoek Haus in Kleve

He is considered one of the most important Dutch painters of the 19th century – yet his home was in Kleve for decades. From Sunday, 31 August 2025, at 2 p.m., the B. C. Koekkoek House in Kleve, the long-time home and workplace of the important landscape painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek, will be open to visitors again.

The North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Nature Conservation, Heritage and Cultural Preservation – owner since 1997 – had the museum renovated over a period of two and a half years.

Fans of the artist, especially those from the nearby Netherlands, have been eagerly awaiting the reopening for a long time. The artist is back home – and visiting him is free of charge during the first week, up to and including Sunday, 7 September 2025.

Further information can be found on the museum's website: https://www.koekkoek-haus.de/
